Monday Nov 8th Winter is here so....

Today we had planned on going to paint at the Mural Site, but it was too cold for it to be enjoyable so we decided to stay in the classroom and make progress in the college application process. Some students went to the info session for Long Island University, which was visiting Parkway.

We went around the room and shared where everyone is at in their college applications: which schools they have applied to, are planning on applying to, and what is left to get done on their applications. The check-ins were helpful and students decided on action steps to take in order to finish their apps. We worked on info sheets in their folders, resumes, and college check-lists.

Adrienne discussed the importance of applying to schools with rolling admission by Thanksgiving in order to have access to the best financial aid packages offered by the schools.
The college students shared their expertise and knowledge from their college app experience and we provided the SSB students with one-on-one attention because everyone is at a different place in the process.

We also finished the self-portrait art projects that we had worked on on Friday
